Natural-adhesion double eyelid surgery
Target’s double eyelid method is a buried-suture technique. Rather than choosing the quickest possible operation, the surgeon takes a little more time to tie a triple knot, which is less likely to loosen than a single knot.
| Method | Buried suture (non-incisional), triple knot |
|---|---|
| Aim | A natural crease that holds |

Why a triple knot
In buried-suture double eyelid surgery, the crease is held by sutures placed under the skin. A single knot is quick, but it is more likely to loosen over time. Tying three knots takes longer and is less likely to come undone, which is why Target uses it.
Is the buried method right for you?
Buried sutures suit eyelids without much excess skin or fat. If your eyelid skin is heavy or droops over the lashes, the surgeon will discuss whether a different approach is more suitable.
Frequently asked questions
Can the crease come undone?
Any buried-suture crease can loosen over time. The triple-knot technique is used to make this less likely.
