Volume
Facial fat grafting: natural volume with your own fat
Fat grafting uses excess fat from your thigh or abdomen to restore volume where the face has become hollow — slimming the body area a little at the same time. Target aims for natural results rather than an over-filled look.
| Donor areas | Thigh or abdomen |
|---|---|
| Common areas | Forehead · temples · front cheeks · side cheeks · under the eyes · nasolabial folds · chin |
| Included | PRP added to the graft at no extra cost |
| Anaesthesia | Sedation plus local anaesthesia |

What makes the difference
- Finer zones — the face is divided into more, smaller grafting zones than usual so volume can be placed precisely.
- Purified fat — oil is removed during purification to help the graft take and to reduce side effects.
- PRP included — platelet-rich plasma from your own blood is added to support graft survival, free of charge.
- Not too much — the goal is a lively, youthful face that still looks like you.
Why it pairs with a slimmer face line
When fat is removed from the lower face, a hollow temple or flat forehead can become more noticeable. A small graft in the right places keeps the slimmer face from looking tired. During facial liposuction, a mini graft to one or two points using fat taken from the face is also possible.
A note on research
Dr. Seo’s master’s research examined contamination rates of cryopreserved autologous fat grafts, published in the Journal of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (2009).
Frequently asked questions
How much of the fat survives?
Some grafted fat is always reabsorbed, and the amount differs between people and areas. Purification and PRP are used to support survival; the surgeon explains whether a touch-up could be needed.
Where is the fat taken from?
Usually the thigh or the abdomen, through small entry points.
